This book described an American boy，Tom Sawyer’s fantastic adventure. The author of this novel is one of my favorite writers，Mark Twain，who was honored as the literary giant and was good at writing satirical novels. The reason that I enjoy Mark Twain’s position is that he always brought me into a funny world by using very simple description but perfect writing skills and attractive story structures. Nevertheless，when I finished reading his words，I would think some deeper and serious things that he wanted to convey to us. The style of Mark Twain’s position is humorous but actually very sharp，which exposed the weakness and the hypocrite of human nature and expressed his desiring for a perfect and ideal world.

The discovery of Tom Sawyer in a Chinese textbook really came as a shock for me. Iran across the report on this novel by a Grade Six boy when I was tutoring himEnglish. The little boy had been required to write this report after theChinese class. Young as he was, he had made several remarkable comments in hishomework among which was his advocate for Chinese students to have an adventurelife as Tom had. However, at the end of his book review he came to pity himselfand his peers a little bit , saying that such a desire could hardly beachieved, given the fact that they have lots of homework and examinations tofinish and in the meantime their parents won’t allow them such a risk.

Mark Twain’s unique language fascinated mein the first place. This novel features the frequent use of the conversationalrule of Black English----Double negatives make a negative, which constantlyreminded me that this is about black Americans and nothing else. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade windsin your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." It’s high time for Chineseparents set their children from their bay of excessive protection and allowedthem freedom to strive on their own.
