星期五下午，我們503班排着整齊的隊伍來到大禮堂。一進大禮堂，只見裏面人山人海，擠得水泄不通。我觀察四周，大禮堂到處可見五彩繽紛的帶子、牌子。售貨員正滔滔不絕地向顧客介紹着產品，好做出買賣。我好不容易走了進去，一件件玲朗滿目的商品，看得我眼花繚亂，挑選什麼好呢？每一樣都是那麼的好看、實用。我猶豫了一會兒，來到文具類的地方，左挑挑，右拿拿，終於選中了一件商品——學校的袋子。我舉起袋子，問售貨員：“How much is it?”(這個多少元)。

“Two yuan.”(2元)。售貨員馬上回答我。我拿出2張1元的學校專用的錢，遞給了她。她拿起一個紙袋給了我。後來我又挑選了許多東西，有紙杯、筆記本、筆。我高高興興地滿載而歸。

通過這次有趣的英語節——芝麻街購物活動，不僅豐富了我們的業餘生活使我們從中得到快樂，也提高了我們的英語對話能力。我希望學校還能多搞幾次這樣的活動。

記得第一次上課默寫單詞的`時候，我只打了80分，是全班最後一名。我感到很慚愧，爲此李老師還和我談過話，讓我發奮努力超過他們。我自己也在心裏暗暗地發誓，一定要努力，爭取拿第一。

從這以後，老師只要求抄寫的，我把它抄得全能默寫出來；老師要求得讀熟的課文，我把它讀得能背下來，還能背得滾瓜爛熟，已至於別的同學讀都沒我背得流利；老師要求造5個句子，我把它翻倍，造10個句子。總之，每次我都比老師更嚴格要求自己。所以，到了第二次上課，讀，聽，背，寫，我都是全班第一了。

爲此，李老師爲了激力其他的同學，在班上宣佈：只要誰趕上或超過了我，就翻倍獎勵小盾牌。可是，李老師卻在背地裏三翻五次的告誡我說："你一定要更加努力，不要停步不前，這樣他們會很容易趕上你的。"

聽了李老師的話後，我也就更加發奮了。因此，到現在爲止，我一直保持着第一的這個位子。

從這裏，我終於懂得了"只要功夫深，鐵杵磨成針"的道理：只要你努力了，就沒有幹不好的事情。
